Lucknow: The district malaria officer of Unnao, Ramesh Chandra Yadav, was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 by the vigilance establishment on Monday. A biologist in the filariasis control unit of Unnao, KK Gupta, filed a written complaint against Yadav, stating that Yadav had asked for a bribe in exchange for approving his medical leave. Following Gupta's complaint to the senior superintendent of police and the UP vigilance establishment, it was confirmed that Yadav was indeed soliciting the bribe. Yadav accepted the money at the district malaria office in Unnao and was apprehended by the vigilance team. The Rs 10,000 in cash was recovered during a search. A case has been registered against Yadav at the UP vigilance station in Lucknow, and legal action is underway.
